Crystal Ground – The hotspot at Kleinwalsertal heads into the new season. Also this season the shred community can expect a packed schedule with several exciting and cosy events at Crystal Ground – Snowpark Kleinwalsertal. From the beginning of January to mid March four completely different events await small and big snowboard addicts at the freestyle hotspot of Kleinwalsertal in Riezlern.

Since its foundation in 2005 the unique snowpark located directly in the centre of Riezlern has become a well known shred location for boarders all over Europe. The advantages of Crystal Ground are obvious: The proximity to the village centre, own floodlights, the sunny parkbase with deckchairs and music, the Crystal Ground Shop next to the park and last but not least a monthly changing setup make this snowpark a famous one within the rider’s scene.

Shortly after the start into the new season a veritable highlight awaits the youngbloods: At the fourth edition of Schnupper Sprungbrett at Crystal Ground in a row, young talents between six and 15 years have the chance to impress the attending experts around the Olympic Gold medallist Nicola Thost with their skills and to take a big step on their career ladder.

Only three weeks later, on January 25th, things are getting down to the nitty-gritty when the Rip Curl Alive and Kickin Tour presented by Monster Energy stops at Crystal Ground. After last year’s great success the event series with twelve events all over Europe stops at Crystal Ground for the second time now. As one of four “Prime Events”, at which a helitrip to France can be won, the rider with the best performance during the all-day session will be the winner. Pros from the teams of Monster Energy and Rip Curl will be attending the event.

On January 15th things are getting wild when the Valley championship takes place at Crystal Ground after a two-year break. Contrary to its name this contest is not only for Kleinwalsertal inhabitants, but an open snowboard and freeski competition for everyone. A breath-taking setup and great atmosphere are guaranteed.

At the Jib Days by Gaia Giacomazzi and Carmen Beccaro from 14th to 16th of March the snowboard girls take the center stage. After the last two year’s success the probably only girls-only jib-event in Europe takes place at Crystal Ground for the third time now. For the Jib Days the snowpark comes up with a special jib-setup designed by the two hosts, on which the participants from all over Europa will show their skills.

As one of very few snowparks in the Alps Crystal Ground has an own floodlights-system. All those who seek a cosy park session after school or work despite darkness, can have it every Wednesday from 07.00 to 09.30 p.m. at the weekly floodlight riding. A snowbar offers refreshment and a real after-work-party feeling. To guarantee perfect conditions, the snowpark will be specially prepared shortly before each floodlight riding.

So guys: Unpack your winter clothes, wax your boards and off to Crystal Ground!
