Ruha wins Grandvalira Total Fight Masters of Freestyle

The third edition of Grandvalira Total Fight Masters of Freestyle took place this weekend in typical winter conditions. Up to 25 riders qualified in the Expression Session for the final rounds. Finnish rider Jaakko Ruha won the Grandvalira Total Fight Masters of Freestyle title, with Argentinean Mati Radaeli taking second place and UK/Andorran Jamie Philip got third in the second and final day of the snowboard competition.

Finland leads and Andorra proves high level

Jaakko Ruha landed an insane fs 10 tail grab that together with a sweet pipe run and a bs rodeo convinced all the judges. Argentinean star Mati Radaeli made two clone runs. A huge bs 7 on the big air to a crossbone on the step-up, fs 7 and a very stilysh rails run proved that he was the most complete rider of the competition. Jamie Philip from the UK and Andorra local got third after being one of the only riders to hit the big air in switch with a switch fs 5 melon and a fs 5 cork. The best Spanish rider was, of course, Iker Fernandez with his spectacular pipe runs. The organisation delivered 10.000 in prizes, one of the highest amounts for a European slopestyle competition.

Best park in Spain

After hard snowfall, machines worked all night at Snowpark el Tarter to ensure the park had the best conditions to allow the riders get the required speed. Event organiser Marc Bajona said the hardest thing was to work on the halfpipe, but after the training runs it had the perfect shape. Proof of that is that the runs had bigger, better and more technical tricks.

The Grandvalira Total Fight Masters of Freestyle is part of TTR, therefore the Coliflor team worked very hard to build the best park seen in Spain.

Image and music festival

The photo and video festival aimed to show the latest snowboard and ski photography and movie productions. It is a platform where artists get a chance to show their work in public.

The Video Festival showcased Soul Productions and their latest freeski movie ‘Freestyle Art 4′, and Sos Fil from Barcelona who presented freeski movie ‘Jiberama’. For snowboarding films, the mad Argentinian crew Bad Quality Productions showed ‘Happy Riding’, Canalsnowboard with Boardbox TV and international and Method.TV.

The music show including Black Strobe and Dj Naughty took place from 22:30 at the Pepsi tent, located at the El Tarter parking area with room for 2000 people.
