It is now official: the eighth and final team for this year’s edition of the Red Bull Hike & Ride has been selected. The two Austrians Patrick Huter and Sebastian Blasy won the public contest against some serious competition from France and Switzerland.
The two ski cracks from Innsbruck – Patrick and Sebastian – have been chosen as the public team to compete against 14 other idols on the international snowboard and ski scene in the fifth edition of the Red Bull Hike & Ride in Switzerland from 22 to 25 February. The two Austrians won the public contest with their film against some tough competition. Their winning clip, as well as those from their strongest competitors, can be seen at www.redbullhikeandride.com.
The eight teams of 2 competing in the Red Bull Hike&Ride 2007 are: Markus Keller & Stephan Maurer (SUI), Chris Rubens & Eric Crosland (CAN), Adam Gendle & Johno Verity (GBR), Laurent Favre & Loïc Collomb-Patton (FRA), Dmitriy Fesenko & Friend (RUS), Tobias Reindl & Thomas Hlawitschka (GER/ Fiat Freestyle Team), Patrick Huter & Sebastian Blasy (AUT/Ski), Loris Falquet & Jean-Yves Michellod (SUI).
After 72 hours of filming and editing, the eight film works will make their premiere at The Red Bull Hike & Ride film and party night on Sunday 25th February at 9.30pm at “Kaufleuten” in Zurich. After the awards ceremony, a massive celebration is planned with the winning team and runners-up. At the turntables will be DJ Kid Sleazy and Def Cue, Switzerland’s most popular DJ duo for hip hop, big beats and crossover. The door opens at 9pm. Admission is 10 Swiss francs. Minimum age is 18 years.
