Nine US Olympic snowboarders have been nominated for the inaugural Action Sports Awards presented by FUEL TV, U.S. Snowboarding announced yesterday. Up for nomination are silver medalists Gretchen Bleiler (Aspen, CO), Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton, VT)) and Danny Kass (Mammoth, CA), as well as gold medalists Hannah Teter (Belmont, VT) and Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA).

The Snowlife Schools Tour headed home last week after a hugely successful four week tour to encourage greater participation in snowsports. From September to October 2006 a team of professional skiers and snowboarders, amongst them Olympians and British Champions, visited 16 secondary schools, four artificial slopes, and inspired over 10,000 pupils to keep active this winter.
