Packed with features, the high-end Centroid merges style, comfort and technical prowess into one all-conquering package. If to cap or not to cap is your question, fear not, you can have it both ways with the Centroid’s toe strap; and as for the ankle strap, well, it’s as comfortable and secure as a padded cell. And you have the advantage of not having to be mad to get in these. Quite the opposite, actually. The J.I.B. highback works in together with the straps and ramped gas pedals to give speedy response yet also allow a fair deal of tweak for getting your bone on. The baseplate is fully also cushioned to take the sting out of nails landings, all of which add up to make the Centroid a good choice for the savvy rider.
The December 2nd 2006 Nokia Air & Style goes down as one of the most progressive contests in snowboard history as Travis Rice (USA) romped his way to victory with a double back-flip backside 180 on a broken board to an ecstatic audience of 27,500 snowboard fans, and claimed the first 1000 TTR points of the season.
THE BLOCK has finalized it's list of Riders for THE BLOCK Party 2006. The riders were selected by MFM and THE BLOCK hotels and reduced to 30 after over 100 snowboarders applied. The rail jam is being co-sponsored by Monster Energy Drink.
Outerwear with a distinctive street styling has become increasingly popular of late. After all, us snowboarders usually wanna look more like badass homeboys than bearded mountaineers. The L1 Generals pant (and whole range, come to mention it) lives by this philosophy, with its baggy jeaned steeze disguising on-the-hill functionality: 10k waterproof/breathable fabric, an array of pockets, inner and outer leg vents and the clever pass pocket with glove stash flap serve to make your shredding happy, whilst the cut and look ensure your steeze is tight.
Yep, that’s right. The Triumph jacket is back for its second season and rightly so. The perfect jacket for cold weather riding, the Triumph is that breed of down jacket that has a fully waterproof exterior (20k/10k), taped seams, fixed down-filled hood… lock, stock, the bleedin’ lot. A bunch of pockets and vents are dotted all over the place and are easily accessible to the gloved hand, which really helps on those frigid mid-winter pow pow missions. It’s comfy, tough as heck and, surprisingly for a down jacket, not that bulky. Hell, wear it in springtime and shed a few kilos at the same time…

The mack-daddy boot from Burton, the SL-9 sets the benchmark for high-end performance. A bit of nuclear orange sole cushioning holds one of the biggest airbags seen to date so landing impact is reduced. Burton’s Speed Zone lacing is present here, as is an asymmetrical articulating cuff and Powershell reinforcement to give you optimised energy transfer and perfect board control. These shred sneakers are light, as comfortable as hell and would be well worth a nosey for all the discerning freestylists out there.
