The September issue of Onboard hits the shelves today crammed full with more awesome than most people would be able to stand. And even if your awesome tolerance is sky high, we’ll send you over the edge with the free and exclusive copy of Ero One Films’ latest movie, La Cassette. Peep what awaits inside…

TB20 – SETTING THE STANDARD

This fall, Standard Films will release TB20, the 20th movie from the revolutionary Totally Board series that began way back in the late eighties. With this monumental movie set to drop, we sent our German Editor Uli Köhler to talk to Standard Films founder Mike Hatchett and director Travis Robb about the humble beginnings, their vision, what to expect from TB20 and the challenges in today’s movie market.

JAKE BLAUVELT – NATURALLY INCLINED

Jake Blauvelt is on another level. Seriously. He’s one of a handful of pro shreds who can truly be pointed out as masters in the art of natural terrain freestyle. Last winter Jake deferred on filming for a regular video part to focus his energies on his Naturally series of webisodes, charting his season trading pow hits with buddies and the ups and downs of life on the road. With Jake’s ‘all banger part’ set to drop here next week, we caught up with Blauvelt to see what’s up with online parts, his approach to shredding and more.

STREET BANGING OSLO

French-Canadians LNP and Will Lavigne jetted over to Scandinavia last winter, more precisely Norway, and were given the grand tour of Oslo’s multitude of street spots by local rookie ripper Ståle Sandbech. Ståle’s big bro, Frode, just so happens to be one of the finest lensmen in the game and was bang up for tagging along to document the action. Of course, the shots are off the hook.

CHERYL MAAS – BREAKING THE MOULD

After two difficult seasons hampered by injuries, Cheryl Maas is back on it and ready to make the snowboard world sit up and take note. She’s been on Onboard’s hit list for several seasons now and this year the stars aligned and we bagged a host of grade A bangers of the Dutch ripper. With her web series, Open Air, ready to shed light on one of women’s snowboarding’s most progressive riders, we called her up to get the full lowdown.

PEETU PIIROINEN’S TTR THREEPEAT

Three-Peetu, P2-D2, the Mighty Mute… this Finnish ripper is without doubt one of the most successful contest riders of recent times. Winning his third TTR World Tour crown on the trot is one hell of an achievement and the fact that be it pipe, slope, big air or quarter you wouldn’t bet against him means you know his versatility is second to none. But other than his stellar contest pedigree Peetu Piiroinen could be described as enigmatic. We sent Marr Barr to crack his code…

You didn’t really metonin how often you snowboard, or if you’ve ever had snowboarding lessons you say you never figured out how to turn? Unless you’re a gifted natural athlete, it’s unlikely that you’ll master either one without a few lessons. You might not have given snowboarding a fair chance if you haven’t invested in training and practice and if you won’t be able to do that with skiing, then your results probably won’t be any better.
