The lifts in Niseko opened on 22 November, so Onboard thought it was time to update you on the powder dream location.
Busy as the guys are over there, they offer some new additions to their 4 resorts (beside epic powder):
Don`t miss the Hanazono Adventure Park which includes sledding, snow-tubing, snowmobiling, snow-rafting and snowshoeing. Rest up at the new 250 seat restaurant but don`t worry, the famous crab ramen is still here and this season you will also see a re-profiled Silver Dream beginners course and free shuttle buses between Hirafu and Hanazono every 20 minutes.
Grand Hirafu is the centre of the Niseko area having the most number of lifts and restaurants and bars all within easy walking distance. This year sees the Grand Shuttle Bus in operation from 8.30am until 9 pm daily taking visitors from the village to the lifts. Don`t forget the great restaurants on the mountain where you can rest up at lunch for the rest of your day`s skiing. Head for a natural hot-spring or stone sauna before heading back out on the slopes to experience Niseko`s floodlit night snowboarding until 9pm.
With the opening of the Hilton Hotel in Niseko Village this year, there is a lot happening on this side of the mountain. Additional snow sports include a huge range of activities including dog sledding, tree trekking, cat skiing, snowmobiling and the popular Pure Action will be available indoors this year. Don`t forget the range of restaurants and bars at Hilton Niseko Village, great for an apres drink or for a dining experience you will not forget.
Over on the south side of the mountain lies the quieter Annupuri Resort. Annupuri boasts long and groomed slopes and great backcountry for advanced riders that really opens up the area. Annupuri is also lucky enough to be sheltered from the weather so it ensures a great day of riding whatever the weather. Access to Annupuri is easy; either head over the top of the mountain or use the free bus which is included in your All Mountain Lift Pass. Don`t miss the hot spring at Ikoinomura, just a stone`s throw away. This hotspring has one of the most beautiful outdoor baths in the area.
Man, sounds like the flight is worth it! Want more information? Check the website!
