The Kitzsteinhorn slopestyle action is in full effect! After the Roxy Glacier Park and the Easy Park, now also all obstacles of the DC Central Park are ready to be rocked. Three great snow parks covering
30,000 m2, sun, snow, fine events and the Volvo XC Ice Camp: the Kitzsteinhorn offers the full winter programme! At the DC Central Park, 31 features wait for all rippers on snowboards and skis. The 16 jumps and 15 rails & boxes are spread over five lines and offer a lot of variation. Advanced riders and pros have the opportunity to romp around and improve their skills at the 500×120 metres area on a snow-sure 2,500 m sea-level. Among the highlights are the cliff jump, the 18-metre straight box, the two picknick tables, the 18- metre step-down kicker with an extremely long and steep landing, the new double-sided wallride and the 15-metre style roller – “one of the best style rollers in the Alps ever”, park designer Thomas “Mellow“ Marsh of Mellow Constructions promises. All beginners may do their first freestyle attempts at the smaller jumps and rails of the Easy Park before they feel confident enough to ride the DC Central Park. Salzburg County’s only glacier ski resort additionally offers the Roxy Glacier Park attracting the riders with a 6.5 metres high and 30 metres wide quarter-pipe and a lot more obstacles for beginners, advanced riders and pros. Plus, there’s the fantastic scenery that makes the park a perfect spot for photographers. The Roxy Glacier Park with its impressive view on the surrounding mountains will be open until early summer.
After the successful Roxy Chicken Jam in December, now more events wait for the riders at Kitzsteinhorn: On February 16th, there will be the Photoshoot & Coaching Day with local riders Björn Hartweger and Matthias Leitner. On March 15th and 16th, the finals of the Snowpark Tour 2008 will take place with the best rookie riders of the ten best parks of the Central Alps fighting for the title. And one week later, there’s the Volvo X-Over Ride, the legendary Freeride Cross at the Langwiedbahn plus Slopestyle Contest at the DC Central Park.
Since January, also the Volvo XC ICE CAMP presented by Nokia is open again. This magic ice and snow world is located directly at the drop-in of the DC Central Park and offers sports, action, free daily freestyle sessions, great sound, gastronomic delicacies and technological highlights. Those looking for adventure can book the Adventure Package for € 147 and experience a clear night under starry sky sleeping at the extraordinary and stylish ambience of the overnight igloos situated on 2,500 m sea-level.
