The Montreux Jib Festival is getting ready to rock.

With a record attendance of 9,000 spectators at last year’s edition, the Montreux Jib Festival is coming back to the banks of the lake Geneva for a crazy weekend of metal shredding and off the wall parties. Orgiride, the organizers, are putting together a real show on Place du Marché in the peaceful, jazzy town of Montreux, with about 100 participants made up of amateurs and professionals.
Friday 22 is the lady’s day with the Nikita Chikita Swiss Tour; from 4pm till 6pm for inscriptions. Qualis will start at 7pm on a jam session format. Check out www.ncst.ch for more info.
Saturday 23 at 8am will see the opening of inscriptions for men. Then practice will go on for 2 hours, while wakeboard and skateboard demos will heat up the place as well. From 4pm will start the Sunset Photo Session including a Best Trick contest. Duration: 1h30. Finals will start by 6pm to end up around 10pm, followed by a Dj party @ Ned.
Sunday 24th will be the kids day. Inscriptions will start at 9am – bring your mandatory protections: helmet, backprotector… As well as parents authorisation – or even better, parents themselves. A wakeboard and skate demo will happen as well from 12. The course will stay open all afternoon for all those kids who wanna get gnar.
