Ever wondered what goes through the minds of one of the world’s ballsiest backcountry riders? Well, Jeremy Jones has a blog site where he regularly posts his thoughts and photos from his riding exploits. As he says himself, it’s not necessarily large scale in depth reporting on his trips, rather thoughts, feelings and emotions triggered by places he’s been and people he’s met.
Recent posts include an epic account of his time heli-skiing in Turkey – where he encountered a town of people who’ve been doing their own version of snowboarding for 60-something years and rode top to bottom lines going “the fastest I’ve been all year” – an insane full moon, floodlight night session with severe exposure in Switzerland (you’ll see Vermeulen’s killer shots in next season’s Onboard mag) and, shortly, his musings on the Big Mountain Pro which wraps up in a couple of days.
It’s a unique insight into one of big mountain snowboarding’s leading lights. Check it out:
