After the riders have been sitting in Russia, drinking Vodka and waiting for better conditions for a week now, the organisers have finally decided to cancel the event for now.
With heavy snowfall and constant wind, the conditions are just too risky to let any of the world class freeriders drop in to the gnarly faces the Freeride World Tour consists of.
Instead the event will be moved to Chamonix, where the riders will then meet to compete in two events: the Nissan Freeride de Chamonix-Mont Blanc, which is scheduled for January 30th and the moved Nissan Russian Adventure Sochi at the next possible date.
Switzerland is looking for some heavy action coming up, let’s hope conditions are better there and they won’t have to do three events at once the next time…
