Norwich Ski Club will once again be playing host to one of the country’s biggest freestyle snowboarding and ski events over 9-10 September, as skiers and snowboarders battle it out in the big air, slope style, rail jam and – for the first time – fancy dress boarder and ski cross disciplines.
The two day Farmers’ Jam showcases the best in local and national snowsports talent. Last year it attracted more than 1500 people over two days – and this year’s event is set to be even bigger.
The event starts at noon on Saturday, and is free to spectators. In addition to the contests, there will be shops and trade stands, a barbecue, live DJs, practice sessions which will allow visitors to try out new equipment, and free taster sessions from local stores Snowfit and Revolutionz, with a minimum entry age of 12 years old.
The main Jam will be held on Sunday, from noon to 4pm, with riders combining their skills to jump, spin, grab and grind over kickers, rails and boxes to score the biggest points. Many of the UK’s top skiers and boarders will be there showing off their skills, with local star Simon Riviere hoping to retain his winning streak from last year.
Entry for competitors is £10 per day and £15 for competition and weekend riding.
The Farmers’ Jam takes place at Whitlingham Lane, Trowse, Norwich, Norfolk, NR14 8TW.
