Straight off the mean slopes of Finland, eesa is hellampestokerfested to announce the signing of Jaakko Seppala to it’s already ridiculous line-up of shredders. “I’ve known Jaakko since we worked together on the anon project and I’d have to say he is one of the more underrated riders on the scene today,” says Stephen Cleary Brand Director for eesa. Cleary adds: “I’m stoked we’re getting the band back together, we are getting ready to launch the brand in Europe and we can’t think of a better rider we want on board leading the charge.”
We tried to reach Jaakko for a couple of quotes but we had a hard time reaching him as, like most pro-shreds, he was quick of feet but slow of return phone call. Since we have contract in hand we took the liberty to paraphrase what Jaakko may or may not have said to us via said phone calls or said e-mails.
“After a super long courtship of Jaakko, which in some countries might be considered stalking, we finally tracked Jaakko down,” comments Cleary and here’s what Jaakko had to say: “I’m really stoked to be working with the crew at eesa, I know from personal experience how involved the riders are with eesa and now I can look fresh when I’m bringing my A-game to the beer gardens when I get off the slopes.”
Jaakko makes his home in Whistler and has been filming for Whiteout Films ‘Wear it Well’. This season Jaakko will continue to make the rounds in North America and Europe, destroying the scene on-and-off the hill. Jaakko joins forces with an already stacked line-up of Jesse Fox, Chris Coulter, Annie Boulanger, Lukas Huffman, Travis Kennedy, Kurt Wastell, Lucas Magoon, Max Legend, Yan Dofin, Luke Mathison and Nic Drago.
