Yep, it’s true! Miss Desiree is riding with Salomon. We’re super psyched. Check out how rad she is here:
Salomon Snowboards is proud to announce the addition of Salt Lake City/Mammoth local Desiree Melancon to the 2009 Am Team. Finishing up last season with two video parts and a grip of editorial coverage, Melancon is pushing women’s snowboarding to the next level.
“Desiree has cool style, is funny as hell, and isn’t scared to get gnarly. She’s part of a small handful of riders who are redefining women’s snowboarding,” said Salomon Snowboards Team Manager Java Fernandez.
Ashbury Eyewear co-founder Lance Hakker states, “I’ve known Desiree for a few years and have always thought she had really good style. She is picky about how she does her tricks, which is rare in snowboarding. If she does a tail press, it’s gonna be straight and it’s not gonna tap. And if she’s trying to do it in the city for her video part, she’ll break her arm before she lets a tap count as a make.”
“Desiree rips. She demands more of herself and women’s snowboarding. She is hell bent on setting a new standard — and she will,” said Transworld Snowboarding Associate Editor Liam Gallhager.
Desiree joins team mate Jed Anderson as a new addition to Salomon’s 2009 Am Team. Be on the lookout for more news on Desiree Melancon at www.salomonsnowboards.com,
