Good news for those who still wallow in memories of their jumps at the Atomic Superpark Dachstein: It’s snowing and a new brilliant season can begin!
With about a meter of fresh snow in the last days, enough of the “white magic” is available to start the construction works in the park. Thanks to the good snow conditions the upcoming weekend (24- 25. 10.09) will be all about freestyle pleasure as the Atomic Superpark Dachstein opens its gates for the first time. From then on the course will grow constantly and the chef park designer Bernd Mandlberger is confident to create a funny and creative set-up on the “Hunerkogel”, once again.
In the summer 09 locals as well as international snowboarders and freeskiers visited the Atomic Superpark to shred new obstacles like the futuristic Transfer- Funbox and for sure the snowpark will sparkle again in a new shiny snow crystal dress soon. This year’s innovations will be the new
positioning of the obstacles. “Because of the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam taking place in November, we will probably install further special elements and replace some other ones”, says the QParks Parkdesigner.
Like every year the first part to be completed is the Beginner Park. The Set-up will consist of a small kickerline with three take-offs from 3 to 6 meters. Furthermore you can expect two different rail lines and the first one will offer you a Flat Box followed by a Rainbow Box and ending with an Up-down Box. The second line offers a Straightbox, two Butterboxes and a Rainbow Down Box. After the construction works in the beginner area are done, the shaping crew will start with the Pro Set Up. Get ready for another sick winter start in the Atomic Superpark on the Dachstein Glacier.
Besides that, talking about the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam! Who has still not taken the 7th Freestyle Festival in Schladming – Dachstein into consideration for the weekend-plan – go for it: 13 – 15th November = 4-Star-Snowboarding, Party, Chillout, Scene Come-Together.
For the seventh time, the Schladming-Dachstein region will become setting and part of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour for the whole of three days.
