Summer Snowboarding

Summer’s just round the metaphorical corner, so we loaded these two questions into our cannon – “What are you doing this summer?” and “Where would you suggest as a good place for the readers to go this summer?” – and “BANG”, fired them at this cross section of shredders. Oh, and if you’re off shredding this summer, remember to pack sunscreen, water and wax…

What are you doing this summer?

I have some plans but nothing is really fixed yet! One thing I want to do is to go to Bali for surfing. The rest of the time I will just take things as they come.

Where would you suggest as a good place for the readers to go this summer?

When you have some money left you can travel to Argentina or New Zealand. There it’s wintertime! If you prefer glacier riding, you can stay in Europe or go to America. In Europe there are some really good parks in Austria (Hintertux, Sölden-Basecamp), Switzerland (Saas Fee, Zermatt), France (Les Deux Alps) or Germany (Zugspitze-GAPcamp). Check them out!

What are you doing this summer?

I’m bad at making plans long before they are going to happen. I always think, “Nahh, it’s going to be all right…” Hopefully I’m going to travel far away on holiday next summer. I would love to visit Bali and go surfing and shopping for cheap! Or at least I always need a break from snowboarding so I go somewhere warm next to the beach or water…

Where would you suggest as a good place for the readers to go this summer?

If you want an exotic summer experience you should go to Lofoten, Norway, and really treat your soul with the nice view of mountains and rugged nature. It’s a special and great atmosphere! I love that place because it shows me how beautiful nature really is and how lucky I am to get to see and experience it. It fills your body with new energy!

What are you doing this summer?

Actually I have no plans for this summer yet. Hopefully go ride in a couple different places. Maybe Mt Hood and Gap Camp.

Where would you suggest as a good place for the readers to go this summer?

I reckon Mt Hood is the best place to go. I just think that’s where you’d have the most fun.

What are you doing this summer?

During the summer I’ll go to Les 2 Alpes for 10 days, ride the park and enjoy the parties, then go to Garmisch for the K2 week, and if the conditions are good, I’ll go to Mt Hood and then afterwards chill around Encinitas. And after that, I need a break from snowboarding – I go to Hossegor for a month to surf, chill and party.
For the whole trip I always take my boardshorts, you never know…
I think it’s cool to ride two weeks and get a break after the season.

Where would you suggest as a good place for the readers to go this summer?

Go to Hossegor for partying, surfing and chilling in June and September – there’s too many people during the summer holiday. Or if you have money go to Encinitas in Cali, it’s the place to be… Just go to the beach, chill and ENJOY the summer. And beware of the sunburn…

What are you doing this summer?

This summer I am going to do a lot of things. Swimming, tanning, skateboarding, playing soccer, looking at things, getting inspired by nature, travel to an ocean for surfing, watch the FIFA World Cup and root for Switzerland, go to the Montreux jazz festival and other open air concerts around home, but most of all I’m just gonna take it easy.

Where would you suggest as a good place for the readers to go this summer?

Well, I’ve always enjoyed Saas Fee in the summer, because there’s decent shredding on the hill, and in the afternoons people meet for other sports or bar sports. It’s just such a neat town surrounded by seven 4,000-metre mountains. It’s also my favourite place to barbecue – there’s sick spots right at the foot of the glacier.
