Sessions/ d3o Wmn´s Thermatics

The smart guys at d3o (you know, this orange jelly stuff that stiffens in case of an impact) have teamed up with Sessions to develop a thermal that not only keeps you warm and dry but also protects your bones.

d3o contains intelligent molecules (inside this orange jelly stuff) that is soft and flexible but when impacted they react and stiffen to absorb shock. When I got send the Sessions/d3o Thermatics, I put on the shirt and the first thing I had to do was smash my elbow (where a pad of d3o is sewed in) against the wall – in the beginning I was a bit reluctant but then I hit it harder and harder, actually so hard that when I had ended my little demonstration, there was a hole in the wall! Fortunately the shirt´s d3o inlays didn´t have to prove their functionality so far as I haven´t fallen on my ellbows but it is good to know (you won´t feel them, d3o is super light and flexible like plasticine) they are there, just in case…

The Sessions Wmn´s Thermatics pants and shirt (79.95 euros each) have d3o pads on those parts of your body that are normally not covered by any back protection: The ellbows, the tailbone and the upper parts of your leg. Besides making your precious bones feeling comfy, you also will be kept warm and dry thanks to Sessions moisture wicking microfibre fleece. Next time you hike up the park and wear this thermal, you know what I mean… You can use it as a first or second layer but I highly recommend the latter only for Alaska. I wore it as a second layer when it had minus 5 degrees and was sweating like a polar bear in a Finish sauna.

The high quality Sessions/d3o Wmn´s Thermatic doesn´t replace back protection and impact shorts but it is a good way to protect some parts of the body that normally don´t get much love. Plus you get two products for the price of one: protection and thermal underwear. Economic crisis, you know…
