The time is almost upon us when most every snowboard brand on the planet will unleash their new range of snowboard gear for the 2013-2014 season in the mighty halls of Munich’s snowboard tradeshow, ISPO. From boards to boots to bindings to outerwear, goggles, helmets and every other piece of shred kit imaginable… all will be on show and we’re hyped to see what they have in store. Question is: what are you wanting to see?
Actually, we’ve seen some of the product already, and even ridden some of it at the Shops 1st Try boardtest we hit up last weekend in the fine Austrian resort of Venet. Most of the big hardware brands were on hand to let us shralp their new wares, hence we can tell you things like Ride Snowboards‘ all new Seb Toutant-endorsed Buck Up is a rad, poppy, lively thing; Bataleon‘s Evil Twin is a killer all-mountain freestyle deck for decent riders; CAPiTA‘s range is full of their predictably strong graphics; Burton have an epic colab with Jimi Hendrix’s estate on the Easy Livin’… and more nuggets of wisdom like that.
Ideally we’d post pictures already of the gear we’ve had our mitts on already, but then the brands would get the right arsehole and not let us ride their gear in the future, and the Shops 1st Try guys wouldn’t put us up in a bizarre alpine Chinese takeaway and let us ride Venet’s awesome inclines while pretending to call it work. Not gonna happen. Come Sunday, though, when ISPO opens its doors, we’ll be rifling through the halls to get the lowdown on the gear and take product porno snaps so you can see what’s up.
We’ve also heard rumours of other things to expect for 2014, like APO entering the outerwear market, Nike using BOA on some of their boots, DC and Union both dropping Travis Rice pro models, not to mention the imminent arrival of Adidas into the snowboard boot and outerwear game.
What are you most keen to see? Let us know in the comments and we’ll do our best to get the scoop.
