The Vans Cup

Last weekend I did the enormous 3 hour drive to Tahoe to compete in the Vans Cup at Northstar.
The park was superfun and it was great to meet up with some friends – the presence of one certain ex-roommate of mine actually completely took away any kind of nervousness during my run… or maybe I wanted to show off in front of him rather than thinking about judges??

Anyways, there were about 20 invited girls of which 10 advanced to Finals on Saturday. I qualified eighth and was stoked to be able to ride again the next day. The course consisted of an up-flat-down box into three jumps, into something like a short halfpipe with two wallrides on each side.

Saturday was not as slushy as it had been on the previous days and it was easier to get enough speed for all the jumps. I still was scared of the last jump, which was the biggest and had some gnarly compression. Cheryl definitely deserved to take home the cash purse for Best Trick and 1. Place for doing a text book BS7 off that thing…. it was so sick!!
In the end I got to dig 1000$ deep into the price money myself for ending up 5th place – a great way to start out the month of March!

But there is some crappy news as well – I basically havent filmed much at all this winter yet and it seems to be spring already…

Have I turned into a contest rider??
AAAAHHHHH!!! HELP!!!!

Herewith I am devoting the month of March to filming!!!

at least I got enough money now, hehe….
