Sledding at Rainbow Mountain

The whole crew woke up early and motivated this day, ready to go sledding at Rainbow Mt. with our guide Steve Tulk from Outdoor Adventures Snowmobiles and Zimtstern
rider Jeff Pepperdine. As we arrived at Rainbow Mt., about 10 min drive from whistler towards Pemberton, it was sure that the snowfall won’t Stop! So let’s hit stepdowns, pillows and cliffs beneath the treeline of the mountain, to have good visibility. With 4 beginner sledders in our crew of 8, we jumped into the cold water and learned the hard way with Steve, Jeff, Rasi and Luggi helping to dig us out of the pow on the way to our riding spots.

At first we found a nice windlip for a stepdown-jump. After landing into sweet pow up to the nipples everyone was lovin it. Steve doubled and even trippled us up to the top of the hill to get as much riding in as possible. The next Stopp was a frozen lake to practice our sled skills in the open terrain with lots and lots of fluffy powpow. The rest of the afternoon we spent cruising from spot to spot with our 100hbp strong sleds that got us everywhere in no time.

Tired and wet to the bones from sledding and the constantly heavy snow fall we picked up some burgers and spent the rest of the day relaxing in the public swimming, hottub and wellness place in whistler village. Big up to Steve and Outdoor Adventures who made this great day possible! We are now looking forward for the next days with the sleds and riding this sweet and deep pow. Jealous? Better be! Stay tuned for more!
