Hi, this is my first blog so I thought I’d introduce myself, my name is Jamie Nicholls; I’m from Bradford in the UK, 13 years old and have been snowboarding for 6 years. My sponsors include Salomon, Bonfire Clothing, NKE 6.0, Xscape SNO!zone, Anon and R.E.D. Protection.
My favourite resort is Laax, Switzerland, it’s got a sick pipe and ace kickers and I also like football, BMX, surfing and wakeboarding.
I have been competing since 2002. This year I was the overall winner for the AIM series slopestyle competition at Xscape, Glasgow, a few of my other results were 7th overall in the halfpipe and slopestyle at the Orange Brits in Laax and 1st in the under 18’s Big Air at the Taravana Freestyle competition in Deux Alps.
I have just returned from the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show in London. I was asked to ride in the Demo shows every day on the Quarterpipe, they were tiring and hard because for each run I had to climb 45 steps to get to the top of the run in. I really enjoyed the show, I got to see all my friends and sponsors and we even had our own riders lounge with Xbox 360’s, Air Hockey and a bar. Towards the end of the week I entered the quarterpipe competition and came 1st in the Under 18’s winning entry to the O’Neill Evolution, Ticket To Ride in Davos, Switzerland. . It was one of the best times of my life and I hope to do it again.
In a weeks time I will be flying out to Madrid, Spain to do the snowflex demo displays in the Esqui de Montagna show.
