I went on a two days trip to Hintertux to meet up with a bunch of French riders and prepare some stuff you will see in the coming issues of Onboard – of course I can tell you more about it right now. But what I can tell you is that the snow conditions there are pretty good, and the park is also looking great after a big reshaping at the beginning of the week. That’s probably why so much riders have come here to train and get back on the good old white stuff. Only on the French side, I could count Mathieu Crépel (warming up for Air&Style) together with Arthur Longo, Morgan Lerfaucheur, Rémi Lamazouère, Gérome Mathieu, Sylvain Bourbousson, Caroline Béliard and Anne-Flore Marxer. Mathieu also told us a bit more about his Invitational TTR event that going to happen early February in the Pyrenees – interview with him very soon on this site…
After a first day on the mountain and burning legs, it was good to chill out at the Testerhof hotel in Tux, which not only offers quick access to the mountain, but also a very pimp sauna/swimmingpool area to an affordable price – thanks Sepp!
The second day was pretty windy so we didn’t get so much action on the park and our crew of Frenchies decided to go and hit some metal stuff down in the valley, while I couldn’t get enough of the perfect groomers up at 3200m. Good times, good times!
We also paid a short visit to the local Ästhetiker crew down in Mayrhofen. They are preparing some crazy stuff again for their now legenday Wängl Tängl! It was also good to see Chris Kröll, who’s back on soft snow after his bad Canadian injury. The man will be ready soon, and in the meantime he’s been checking out the brand new Onboard North American digi mag – which you should also do people!
That’s it for now, see you there soon, or at the Air&Style next week-end!
